Dr. Procter has been focusing on minimally invasive approaches to bariatric surgery for his entire career. Having performed the first robotic-assisted cholecystectomy in the state in 2008, he later became one of the first bariatric surgeons to adopt the fully robotic approach to the sleeve gastrectomy, roux-en Y gastric bypass, and duodenal switch. He has been performing bariatric surgery since 2007, and started Beltline Bariatric and Surgical Group in 2016. He is married to a lovely wife and has three wonderful boys with whom he enjoys golfing. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Procter promotes weight loss surgery awareness on TLC’s “Family by the Ton.”
Dr. Roger Eduardo is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon, specializing in weight loss (bariatric) and general surgery. His special areas of interest include laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, revisional bariatric procedures, anti-reflux surgery and hernia surgeries.
Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Eduardo moved to the United States to attain his undergraduate degree at Yale University. He received his MD from Emory University School of Medicine, and completed his surgical residency training at the prestigious Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (a Harvard University affiliated surgical program). In addition, he went on to complete a clinical fellowship in advanced laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida. While there, he specialized in laparoscopic surgery for morbid obesity, bariatric revisional surgery, esophageal reflux, gastric motility surgery, laparoscopic and open hernia repairs, as well as advanced endoscopy.
Dr. Eduardo is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
Michelle is our new Family Nurse Practitioner. She was a cardiac nurse at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital for 7 years before attaining her Masters Degree in Nursing at Georgia State University. She is very excited to join the Beltline Bariatric team and be a part of its growth! Michelle is very passionate and loves patient care. She will be seeing patients after surgery to help them attain and maintain their weight loss goals. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends!
Taylor is our Registered Dietitian. She completed her un dergraduate studies at the University of Georgia. During her studies she focused on weight management and she is a member of the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group. She is passionate about working individually with patients and helping them achieve their personal health goals. Taylor loves seeing patients become happier and healthier than ever. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, cooking and baking, and being outside. Taylor is very excited to be a part of the Beltline Bariatric team and a part of each patient’s journey!
Our Chief Operating Officer is a Georgia native and a proud Georgia Dawg! She has been working in the medical administrative field since 2011. She enjoys working with smaller practices and seeing them expand to their greatest potential. In her spare time, she likes to try new restaurants, travel to new cities, and spend quality time with her family and close friends.
She is our medical assistant and a health coach in the making. Shortly after working with bariatric patients, she started her own business called Bariactive to help Bariatric patients before and after surgery to live their absolute best life! Each patient shapes her and motivates her through their personal experiences and their eagerness to combat sickness and disease. She strives to be the change that she wants to see in the world each day. She empowers and encourages every individual life that crosses her path, and she strives to teach our patients about living a better life through health, nutrition, fitness, and spirituality to ensure they have the best quality of life after surgery. In her best effort, she will provide the tools and reinforcements for patients to achieve all goals and aspirations that they set forth for themselves. She was led to this practice to achieve great things and grow in so many ways than one. She is beyond words and emotions to work with a doctor with so much drive, determination, selflessness, and love for others and a staff that makes an office feel like home. She will continue to grow and learn with Dr. Charles Procter, Jr. and the staff of Beltline Bariatric and Surgery Group as long as her heart is content.
As our Practice Manager, Nina enjoys creating a unique atmosphere of relationship-oriented patient care, reliability, and a stress-free surgical experience. She appreciates working for Dr. Procter, Dr. Eduardo, and their staff because they truly care for their patients’ quality of life. She strives to ensure the BBSG team makes this a priority above anything else! Professionally, she has over six years of medical administrative experience including front office, billing, and surgery scheduling roles. During her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family and experiencing new places with her two kids.
Michael is an Atlanta native who has been working in healthcare for the last 5 years. He is a Front Office Coordinator and helps with the practice’s billing. Michael enjoys helping patients better understand their insurance and financial requirements so that he can help make their road to surgery less stressful. In his free time, Michael enjoys photography, crafting, and spending time with his family.
Jessica graduated from Georgia State with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology. She enjoys being part of a positive team that strives to help patients succeed. Jessica is the billing specialist and values the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with patients. In her free time, Jessica enjoys outdoor activities, photography, adventure, and being a mom.
Leslie is our Patient Coordinator. Originally from the New Orleans area, she brings a background in patient care and service that makes everyone feel like family. She strives to create a space to help patients feel comfortable and motivated throughout the program.
Amy is our Patient Coordinator. Amy received her Psychology and Human Service degree from Clayton State University. She has over 20 years in the healthcare industry with skills ranging from billing, administration, sales, and marketing. She really enjoys helping people navigate through their life’s journey and seeing them excited about becoming a better version of themselves. When she’s not volunteering her time as a grief counselor at a hospice facility, she loves creating memories through traveling with her husband and son.
Whitney was born and raised in Georgia (Go Dawgs!). She has been a Registered Medical Assistant since 2007. She is currently getting her Masters in Healthcare Management. Her passion is helping people live their life to the fullest and being their advocate. Whitney actually had bariatric surgery herself in 2017. She has three dogs, is a huge concert goer, enjoys the beach, going to sporting events, writing, crafting, going on adventures, cooking and spending time with her loved ones. She truly enjoys working for such a positive group whose passion is to help others live their lives to the fullest as well.
Our Front Office Coordinator, Maria, was born and raised in Newnan, Georgia. She has been married for 3 years and considers her dogs, Emma and Bennett, as her kids. She is passionate about working out and was a trainer, head coach, and nutrition coach at local gyms for many years. She is in the process of writing a book about her life dealing with the health struggles and challenges she has overcome since she was eleven years old. When she is not working or working out, she loves reading and watching Grey’s Anatomy. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education, but she still strives to pursue a career in the medical field to become a doctor.
